Is Los Feliz in Los Angeles a nice area to live in?

My family and I are moving to Los Angeles and I've heard things about Los Feliz and I wanted to know how nice it is, for those of you who live there or around there. Especially the area around the Kodak Theater, where I've been looking at apartments online.
Answer
The Kodak Theater is on Hollywood Blvd and in Hollywood, not Los Feliz. It's hit or miss in that area. It's certainly urban, dirty and go-go-go. If you go across the 101 Freeway there are nice apartments off of Franklin. Be prepared for massive amounts of traffic most of the time and a lack of parking. There are lots of cool old apartment/condo buildings and interesting Old Hollywood history.
Loz Feliz is a pretty swank part of town. Quite a few successful musicians, actors/movie types live there. The previous police chief of Los Angeles even lived there. Lots of old Spanish style homes hanging off of the hillside. The Frank Lloyd Wright designed Ennis House is in Los Feliz and is for sale if you have the money. You can hike up to Griffith Observatory and to Griffith Park. There are lots of hipster stores, bars, coffee houses and restaurants in Los Feliz and neighboring Silver Lake. You need to wear your environmental beliefs on your sleeze in both neighborhoods. There is an interesting history to Los Feliz and Silver Lake too.
