What components make up a home theatre system?
Basic question but have no idea.

The one piece everyone seems to forget and and might be the most important piece is a good universal remote control that is well programmed as it makes the system so much easier and more enjoyable to use. I would strongly suggest setting aside a budget of at least $500 to get a decent remote and have it professionally programmed by someone who knows what their doing.
As for the equipment that is required:
Video Source: TV, or projector and screen
Source: Cable or Satelite, Dvd, or Blue-ray player
Speakers: minimum of 5 speakers plus a subwoofer, (left, right, center, two rear surround speakers and a subwoofer)
Amplification & Preamp: Receiver or separates(surround sound preamp, amplifiers to drive all speakers
Seating & popcorn lol
I would strongly suggest to anyone buying a home audio or video system to purchase from your local independent hi-end audio video store as they have better equipment to choose from, they are much more knowledgeable to help you choose the right equipment for your budget and room. Not only are you buying better gear and getting the knowledge and expertise to help you choose the right system but you will need their help with any issues that arise in the future.
And I promise you, it will !
They also know how to install and Program universal remotes correctly

where can i purchase theatre used movie chairs?

I need to purchase movie chairs for my home theatre and i don't want to spend more than about $50 or $60 a seat for them. Where can I go to start or purchase some.? I need at least 2 rows of 5 or at least 4 in order to create my vision. Any one have any ideas?

How about going to the theatres in and around your town and asking if they have any old movie chairs? Or ask them if they know of where you could find some. I'm thinking you would get a lot of answers from them!
