I noticed that people nowadays rather go to the cinema instead of going to theater as they used to. Why is it so? I need answers as soon as possible, please!

your one answer mentioned the magic word: laziness. once television came along it dumbed down the general public. don't misunderstand--there is good television just as there are good films and good theatre. but tv conditioned people to make them feel they didn't have to leave the house. it's far easier to throw on your jeans, pay ten bucks and sit in a dark theater where you can hang your feet over the seat (if no one is in front of you) than it is to dress, pay over a hundred dollars and sit in seats that were made for smaller people in a magnificent broadway house... face it: we are a lazy and greedy culture and most people want what's easy and comfortable and escape their dull lives. unfortunately people go to the theatre if it's got a tv actor in it whom they feel they 'know'. go spend ten days in new york and you'll see what i mean. talk to a casting director. you can find a good play to see for ten dollars and you don't have to worry about what you're wearing, but it's work. come to think about it, i'll just stay home in my underwear and press power on the remote....

Is a trip to New York City coming up for you? The thought of just where you will be eating has probably also crossed your mind. As there are thousands of great places that you can pick from, the task of getting that down to only a handful or so might just prove to be ultra challenging.
NYC is world renowned for the tasty pizza you can find there. Luzzo's, in the East Village, is one great place to get Neapolitan pizza. I think their pizza is definitely some of the best I have ever had, and lots of other folks feel that way too. It is always fresh, hot and sized perfectly.
John's Pizza, which can be found in the West Village on Bleecker Street, is another place you may want to try. Often referred to as one of the best pizzerias in all of Manhattan, you will see that there is usually a long line to stand in and wait for this delicious pizza.
You can't come to New York City without getting a taste of its bagels. One good place to check out when you are uptown is one of the H&H Bagels stores.
There are two Murray's Bagels stores that can be found on the West side and you should make a point of stopping at one of them when you are downtown. Choose a spread that you like and put it on them when they are nice and hot - you will enjoy them immensely.
If you are thinking about burgers, some of the best-tasting ones in the entire world are found in New York City. Shake Shack is the place that so many folks think has the tastiest burgers. It is relatively easy to get to and there are two main locations.
There is one that is in Madison Square Park. Now, if it is cold out, you might not want to go here since it is right in the park and there is not any indoor seating.
The other one happens to be an indoor Shake Shack eating establishment located on the Upper West Side, so whether or not it is cold out is not going to matter. The choice is up to you as to the location you go to, but, when all is said and done, you will satisfy your hunger with their delicious burgers, fries and shakes.

There are two places that offer fantastic views.
Let me first stop to say that I dearly miss one of the best dining views in all New York City. That was the one from Windows on the World in the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
Rolph's Bar and Restaurant
Rolph's is a German Restaurant that you may or may not want to dine in. The food is good but a bit pricey for what you get. I do give some description of Rolph's Restaurant and Bar in a review posted a couple of years ago but let me tell ya in just a couple of words, "There is NO PLACE decorated like this one.!"
The restaurant has a retro 50s atmosphere with Elvis and hot rods, mixed with good burgers and New York egg creams. You don't have to be a New Yorker to try one.
The best part of the place is when one or two members of the waitstaff stop serving, hop onto a table, and take a couple of minutes to sing out a tune or two. It really adds to a fun, easy goin' Broadway theater atmosphere.
Jekyll and Hyde
This multi-level horror themed restaurant is great with kids 8-16. It has good food and a waitstaff right out of a B movie horror flick. The props and robotic/animated shows are a hoot and the waitstaff stay in role throughout your lunch/dinner.
Kids love this place. It's great for a family fun afternoon. Take your time eating and get your monies worth of the show. Be sure to interact with the staff. They too can be a hoot. Jekyll and Hyde is located near Central Park so it's doable from many Manhattan points.
Rink Bar and/or the Rock Center Cafe
The Rink Bar is perfect during the summer and fall while dining at the Rock Center Cafe is best enjoyed during the Christmas Season when the giant Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is lighted and skaters take to the ice.
