Home Theater Receiver Switched Outlets?

Hi, I have a sherwood r-865 and it has 2 back panel outlets for additional components.I noticed that the rating says 100 watt max.My cd changer is plug in and it has 17 watts.I read somewhere that you should follow the amperage or power guidelines when using the plugs on the back of a unit.I have a processor I would like to plug in but its says 2.5A and standard 120v 60htz.I have no clue as how to equate that for wattage and if I will be overloading.I do not wanna damage anything in the long run but will it be ok to plug it in anyways cause I'd like for everything to power up simultaneously or would it be best to just plant it directly into the power strip or power conditioner? Thanks

Power (in watts) = Volts x Amps. See the link for a calculator.

120x2.5 = ~275 watts ... too much.

Convenience outlets are designed for things like a CD, DVD or Blu-ray player.
