its so pricey to go to the show today do you feel that movie theater will last ? here's a way they are trying to keep you going back not only are they trying to get you to see movies in imax but are turning to 3d to help they theaters from fading away , just like the drive ins and the home theater systems have dropped so much in price that they sound great .....the way over priced food after you get in to boot , and then you have to race to find a seat . do you see movie tricks they are trying to get you to keep coming back ? and do you think movie theaters will last for 12 more years .....and what 12 bucks to get into the show for one person then food and parking lot fees .......still a great deal or stay at home and save money all most forgot you have your dvr movies

I've been thinking about that more and more lately myself. Just as video arcades have nearly disappeared now that there are so many home gaming systems, movie theaters will begin to fade as well.
But I doubt that they will go entirely. There are still drive-in theaters around if you look hard enough and you can still find a small video arcade as well.
The 3-D isn't really for the benefit of the movie theaters, it's for the upcoming 3D TV systems. They want to start pushing the new 3D stuff for the home and they won't get very far if there isn't a lot of movies (and perhaps TV shows) to view on those expensive systems.
But the appeal of getting out of the house and a dinner and movie night isn't likely to fade a lot. It'll take many years before that happens. They are working on a digital transmission of movies to theaters (no more film) and of course upgraded equipment. When the economy is bad (like now) theaters make a lot more money.
I'd say 20-30 years before they are significantly gone from the mainstream.

home theater decoration help?

we are bulding a new house and we have a pretty big, closed off darkened room dedicated to being a home theater. we already got the equipment(projector, screen, surround sound speakers and reciever) down, but we need to decide on carpet, lights, decorations, chairs and all that stuff. Is there an online store that sells this stuff?

don't forget that most decorations actually serve a purposes....like sidelights with panels (they are normally very expensive acoustic panels), so much can go wrong when you set things up yourself, and sound can be an art of precision, at least consult with an expert before you go off on your own-just to make sure that a decoration is just that. Many furniture stores sell home theater seats.....there is a huge markup in furniture, so make sure you check out your
furniture store.....sometimes they have incredible deals. I would never buy such items online, but if you frequently do, then you must be comfortable with it. Good luck
